Case Study – London Sports Physiotherapy

Branding, Web Design and Ongoing Support for a Startup

How we helped Josh Hawksworth build a complete brand, digital presence, and print collateral from the ground up, and stayed by his side as the business grew.

Starting a physiotherapy practice from scratch means solving two problems at once. The first is clinical: building the expertise, the facilities, and the patient care that a practice stands or falls on. The second is everything else – the identity, the website, the marketing materials, the search visibility – all the things that get patients through the door in the first place.

Josh Hawksworth had the clinical side sorted. What he needed was someone to build the business around it.

When Josh first came to Three Girls Media, London Sports Physiotherapists didn’t yet exist beyond a concept and a vision. He knew the kind of practice he wanted to run — specialist, sports-focused, credible, approachable — and he had something distinctive to work with: a medical illustration he wanted at the heart of the brand. He also had a clear sense of the market he was entering. London sports physiotherapy is competitive territory, and a practice without a strong identity and visible digital presence doesn’t get to compete.

The brief we agreed was as wide-ranging as a brief can be: create the brand from scratch, build the website, structure the service offering, produce the full suite of print and stationery, and establish the search visibility to bring patients in. And once all of that was done, keep developing it — because a growing practice doesn’t stay still.

Eighteen months on, Josh has a thriving and expanding business. This is how we built it.

Could not have been more helpful.

Julian and team have been absolutely fantastic in building my website and brand. Their knowledge, expertise and attention to detail is second-to-none and they are always at the end of the phone if ever I have a question.

I can’t recommend Three Girls Media highly enough!

The Work

We started with the brand, and we started with the illustration.

The centrepiece of what Josh brought to us was a striking medical illustration – detailed, clinical, authoritative – that he wanted to form the visual heart of London Sports Physiotherapists’ identity. Our job was to turn that illustration into a working brand: something that could live on a business card, a roller banner, a website header, and a search engine listing, and hold together every time.

We developed the full visual identity around it: a logo system that balanced the illustration’s technical detail with a clean, modern treatment, a colour palette that felt professional and precise without being cold, and a typography suite that worked across digital and print. The result was a brand that communicated expertise at first glance, which, for a new practice asking patients to trust it with their bodies, matters enormously.

With the brand in place, we moved to the website.  Before a single page was laid out, we worked with Josh to map and structure his service offering: clarifying what treatments he provided, how to group and present them, and how to make the pathway from “I’ve got a sports injury” to “I’ve booked an appointment” as short and clear as possible.

We designed and built dedicated landing pages for the highest-value services, each one structured around the way a prospective patient actually searches and decides. Every page was built mobile-first, because most people looking for a local physio do so on their phones, often in the moment they need help most.

Local SEO was central to the strategy from the start. A physiotherapy practice lives and dies by local search — patients find their physio on Google, not on national directories — so we built the SEO foundations into the site at launch, carried out thorough local keyword research, and set up and optimised the full local search presence. We’ve continued building on those foundations in the eighteen months since, as the practice’s reputation and patient base have grown.

Print and stationery completed the picture. A practice that looks polished online needs to look equally polished in person. We designed business cards that reflected the brand quality, patient-facing leaflets explaining the service offering, clinic posters, and roller banners for events and health fairs. Every piece was designed with the same care as the digital work, so the London Sports Physiotherapists brand is coherent wherever a patient encounters it — whether that’s on a Google search, a social feed, a leaflet through a door, or a banner at a local running event.

Impact

Eighteen months ago, London Sports Physiotherapists was an idea. Today it is a thriving practice with a brand that looks established, a website that converts visitors into patients, and a growing search presence that ensures the right people can find it.

The foundations we built at launch have held up as the business has grown. The brand has scaled without modification because it was designed to last. The website has developed as the service offering has expanded. The local SEO work continues to generate organic visibility in a competitive market. And the print materials — used in clinic, at events, and across the areas Josh serves — keep the practice visible offline as well as on.

The best indicator of a project done well isn’t the launch — it’s what follows. Josh has come back to us consistently throughout the eighteen months, expanding the site, refining the brand, and treating us as the long-term partner for a practice that is clearly going places. That ongoing relationship is the best measure of a project done right.
