I started Three Girls Media in 2008, working from home with a laptop and an early interest in WordPress. Eighteen years later, the business is still relatively small, and client management is still something I do myself.
We never set out to be the biggest agency in Surrey, but we did set out to give excellent service, and that remains our guiding principle. In practice, that means being quick to respond, straightforward about what a website can and cannot do for you, and still here after eighteen years because once clients join us, they tend to stay.
We build websites and ensure that they generate sales for you. Before we design anything, we find out what the site actually needs to do: more enquiries, more bookings, more direct sales, and we help you build towards that number. The look of your website is very important, but the results it produces are vital.
Most of our clients are small or medium-sized businesses: tradespeople, consultancies, nurseries, schools, people who cannot afford three months of an agency getting to know them. So we get to know you quickly, and then we stay. Many clients have now been with us for over ten years. We would rather keep a client for a decade than win a new one every month.
Every site we build sits on a proper content management system. Once it is live, it is yours: you can log in and change the text or the prices yourself, no phone call required, though you are welcome to make it anyway.
Our Founder, Julian has three daughters – Olivia, Sophie and Saskia.
The business is named after them 🙂
Julian has run small businesses since his early 20’s, and founded Three Girls Media in 2008.
An early WordPress enthusiast, he spotted the flexibility and scale that the platform could provide clients, and developed the agency around providing a full suite of digital marketing services to small and medium-sized businesses. His strong interest in marketing for education has helped dozens of schools and nurseries grow.
As founder/owner of a series of businesses, Julian understands the need for return on investment and has a very strong commercial focus on all the marketing advice that he gives.
Known to the rest of us as Ninja, David has been working with WordPress since his teens, and there aren’t many WordPress challenges he hasn’t solved.
With a keen eye, David designs beautiful websites that work. He has years of experience providing WordPress technical support, and when something breaks that nobody else can find, it usually ends up on his desk. He is solutions-driven and always endeavours to find solutions to client requirements – however unusual.
When he is not working, he is probably playing Fortnite.
Victoria builds modern, user-friendly websites and manages the client relationships that go with them, from site navigation through to the landing pages that are meant to convert.
She also handles social media and content for a number of our clients.
She is super-efficient and prides herself on providing customer service with absolute professionalism. If your project has several moving parts, Victoria is usually the one keeping them in order.
Lawrence has worked in advertising and marketing for more than twenty-five years, and Facebook and Instagram advertising turned out to be what he was extremely good at: campaigns for clients ranging from wedding venues to e-commerce clients to care homes.
A number of our longest-standing clients came to him after wasting money running Facebook ads themselves; actually getting a return on ad spend is what he does best.
Away from the screen, he writes pantomime scripts and is a keen musician.
