Squarespace was a fine place to start. If you’ve hit its ceiling, we move you to WordPress properly: content intact, rankings protected, and a site you actually own at the end of it.
Squarespace is a good place to start. The templates look sharp, the price is fixed, and for a single-page brochure site or an early-stage business it does the job. We say that honestly because most of our Squarespace clients built something perfectly reasonable themselves before they came to us.
The trouble is what happens next. Squarespace is a closed system: you’re building inside their templates, using only the blocks and integrations they’ve approved, on their servers, for as long as you keep paying. There’s no plugin ecosystem to speak of, so if you need something specific, a booking system with rules that match how you actually work, a members’ area, a stock feed synced to a supplier, you’re generally stuck waiting for Squarespace to build it, or not.
WordPress runs over 59,000 plugins, with tens of thousands more built for very specific jobs. If you can describe what you need, there’s a good chance it already exists, and if it doesn’t, we can build it. That’s the difference: Squarespace gives you what’s on the shelf. WordPress lets you order off-menu.
You own it. On Squarespace you’re renting space. Move to WordPress and the site, the content and the data are yours, hosted wherever you choose.
It grows with you. WordPress scales from a five-page brochure site to a full ecommerce catalogue without hitting a platform ceiling.
SEO gets a real toolkit. Full control over metadata, permalinks, schema and site structure, rather than Squarespace’s fixed SEO settings.
Cost stops climbing by default. Squarespace is a permanent subscription. WordPress software is free; you pay for hosting and the work you actually want doing, and nothing recurs that you haven’t chosen.
Everything else plugs in properly. Email marketing, analytics, booking systems, stock feeds: WordPress integrates with what you already use rather than forcing you onto Squarespace’s approved list.
Security is actively managed, not assumed. No platform is immune to threats, but WordPress has a mature security ecosystem, and we run robust, secure hosting for every site we build.
Yes, as long as it’s done properly. We map every existing URL to its new address and put redirects in place before the old site comes down, so search engines are pointed to the right page rather than a dead end.
Most migrations take two to eight weeks, depending on how much content you have and whether we’re rebuilding functionality Squarespace couldn’t support. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we’ve seen your current site.
Not necessarily, and that’s usually a good thing. Most clients use the move as a chance to improve the design as well as the platform underneath it, though we can replicate your existing look closely if that’s what you’d prefer.
Yes. We build every WordPress site to be manageable by you, and we include training so you can make your own updates. Support is there if you need it, but you’re not dependent on us for every change.
You can cancel it once your new WordPress site is live and everything has been checked and confirmed working. We’ll tell you exactly when it’s safe to do that rather than leave you paying for both.
